We don’t have the room for a treadmill in our house’ will no longer be a valid argument as one of these amazing treadmills will fold flat and disappear under your bed.
1. LifeSpan TR1200-DT3 - Editors Choice
Best Treadmill That Folds Entirely Under a Bed
- Step up height of just 4.5”
- ¾” thick phenolic deck
- 6 cushion pads to absorb impact
- 2.25 HP motor
- 2 operation speeds to choose from
- Folds flat after use
- Max user weight of 300 lbs.
Lifespan Tr1200 DT3 Review
The TR1200-DT3 from LifeSpan is an amazing, full-sized treadmill that folds completely flat after use.
This means that you can just push it under the bed or you can even tuck this under your standing desk, for a mid-work exercise session.
It is just 63” long, 28.5” wide and the step-up is just 4.5” from the ground making it one of the lowest profile treadmills that we’ve seen.
The tread deck is a ¾” thick phenolic deck that gives you a smooth and comfortable surface to walk and jog on. There are 6 independent compression shocks under it that give ample cushioning to your ankles and knees.
The treadmill is powered by a robust 2.25HP electric motor, which means that there’s enough scope for all types of fitness buffs, right from the casual walker to the HIIT sprinter.
That said, it’s nice and quiet when operational, just the way we like it.
You can select from two operational speeds, that’s 2.0mph and 4.0mph. That’s not a lot, we know.
But you’ve got to remember that this isn’t a full-sized commercial treadmill. It’s a folding, under-the-desk unit, and that speed more than suffices for an impromptu walk mid-work.
The deck also features a pedometer which LifeSpan calls ‘Intelli-Step’. If you are following a specific fitness goal, like 10-20k steps a day, this has you covered.
A small portable LCD console is included which shows you the important details. It can easily pass for a digital clock and you can keep it on your desk without most people even noticing.
If you are looking for a super-sleek treadmill that can tuck in under just about any furniture piece at home, you’ve just found it.
2. Asuna Under Bed Treadmill - Best Value
- 2.5HP peak power motor
- 49” long and 17.5” wide running deck
- Foldable hand rails
- 4-window display console
- 220 lbs. capacity
- 8.0mph top speed
- Folds flat after use
- Casters under the frame for easy transportation
Asuna Treadmill Review
The Asuna is a space-saving, entry-level treadmill from Sunny Health and Fitness, which is one of the best brands for budget-priced fitness gear.
If the 4.0mph top speed of our #1 model seemed tepid, you’ll love this one. It is powered by a 2.5-peak HP motor that gives it a top speed of 8.0mph.
What’s even better is that you can start with just 0.6mph and work your way up to 8mph in increments.
A compact, but comprehensive, 4-window display reveals the vitals and keeps you informed about the distance covered, the calories burnt and the time.
The running deck is 49” long and 17.75” wide. That’s not huge. But it’s not limiting either. You can easily walk and jog with your full stride. There are shock-absorbing pads under the deck that keep your joints comfy.
In addition to the monitor/console, you have a media port to connect your mp3 player or smartphone to the treadmill. The music will be played through the in-built speakers. An intuitively-positioned device holder will take care of the portable device when you are busy torching calories.
Once you are done exercising, the hand grips fold downwards and the treadmill folds flat. There are two casters built-into the front portion of the frame which allow you to transport it easily within the house.
The only possible quibble that we have with the Sunny Health and Fitness Asuna is that it has a max weight capacity of just 220 lbs., which is not too less. But it may not be suited for tall and heavy users. Otherwise, this is one of the best folding treadmills that we’ve come across.
3. Rebel Treadmill - Cheaper Alternative For Walkers

- 63 inches long, 24 inches wide. Yeah, freaking compact
- Excellent for home or office use. Can be used as a desk treadmill

Rebel Treadmill Review
The Rebel Treadmill is an excellent choice for those that prefer a nice under bed treadmill that is slim, compact, easy to move, and affordable.
This treadmill is designed for people who are only planning to use their treadmill for walking rather than running. This treadmill has a top speed of 2mph, which is the equivalent of a slightly brisk walking speed.
This treadmill is extremely compact and slim coming in at only 63 inches long and literally only two feet wide. The compact design of this treadmill makes it an excellent treadmill that you can easily slip under your bed after you are done using it.
Verdict: Need an affordable walking treadmill that will fit nicely under your bed? This is your best bet.
4. Treadly Under Bed Treadmill
- Upgraded design
- Reinforced aluminum frame
- 3.5” tall deck
- Auto-aligning belt
- Hydraulic handrail with all the controls
- Emergency stop switch
- IR remote to control speed
Treadly Treadmill Review
The Treadly 2 is an upgrade to the Treadly 1, which was hands down, one of the slimmest treadmills in the world.
It was advertised as THE treadmill that could be stored anywhere.
They weren’t kidding.
With the Treadly 2, you get an upgraded reinforced aluminum frame that boasts of a max user weight capacity of 265 lbs. No wobble, no creaking noises. Yet, it weighs just 77 lbs. and features two casters, which means that anybody can push it around home if need be.
The deck is just 3.5” tall and there’s an auto-aligning belt which automatically realigns depending on your walking style.
A folding lawnmower-styled, hydraulic handrail houses all the controls allowing you to make changes on the go. You can lock the handrail in position with the bi-switch, there’s an emergency stop switch and there are dedicated buttons to increase and reduce the speed.
You can also control the speed with the remote control which is included in the package.
Also, the speed will automatically adjust depending on which part of the walking deck you place your feet on. If you place it in the middle, it slows down for a walk. If it’s in the front, it accelerates, as it senses a full stride for a run. If you move towards the rear end, it slowly comes to a stop.
The only thing missing is a console.
But that’s not a deal breaker for us because you’d be hard pressed to find a more compact unit.
Also, you do have the option to sync the unit with the Treadly mobile app that has a bunch of workouts to choose from.
5. 3G Cardio 80i
- 58” long and 18” wide running deck
- 3.0HP continual power motor
- 11mph top speed
- 15% incline
- One touch speed setting
- Easy controls
- Large console
- Folds flat after use
- Just 9” storage height
3G Cardio 80i Review
With a stainless steel frame and a full-sized running deck, the 3G Cardio 80i is the only treadmill in this list that’s designed specifically for runners.
It is heavy duty, it is powerful and it has all the bells and whistles that you’d otherwise expect from a full-sized treadmill.
For starters, the running deck is 58” long and 18.5” wide. Even a tall 6’4 user, can run at full stride on a running belt that big. It has a max weight capacity of 325 lbs., which is pretty much in sync with the rest of the features.
To top it off, it is powered by a 3.0HP motor that gives it a top speed of 11mph.
Be it light jogs or sprints at full steam, this one has you covered.
Further, it also has an incline feature which increases the height by up to 15% for a more challenging workout.
We love the controls on the 3G Cardio 80i. They are so easy to use, including a one-touch speed setting.
The console is a pretty detailed one that shows you a ¼ mile track along with the other standard markers. It does come with a touch sensor to monitor your heart rate as well.
In case you don’t find the standard features challenging enough, there are 8 built-in workout programs to choose from and 4 customizable ones as well.
Once you are done exercising, it folds completely flat and has a height of just 9”.
Perfect for under-the-bed storage. You can also store it vertically and there are wheels for transporting it.
6. ANCHEER Under Bed Folding Treadmill
- Dual function treadmill
- Folds down to a compact under-desk unit with a top speed of 4mph. Will fit entirely under a bed
- Unlock the handrails to increase the speed to 12mph
- 2.5 Peak power motor
- 40” long and 16” wide tread deck
- Folds flat to just 5” thickness
- 4-window display on top
- In-built speaker
Ancheer Folding Treadmill Review
The Ancheer under desk folding treadmill is a versatile option that can do both, work as a low-speed treadmill for use under the desk, or work as a high-speed treadmill with a top speed of 12kmh.
Switching between the two is as simple as folding the handrail down, which limits the speed to 4kmh and converts it into an under-desk unit.
As you raise the handrail and lock it into place, the 2.5HP peak power motor detects it and increases the max speed of the tread belt.
Smart and space saving, at the same time.
The tread belt is 40” long and 16” wide and comes with 7-shock absorbing layers. The top one is water resistant and has a lawn-like finish that mimics the feel of an outdoor walk.
Ideally, we’d have preferred it to be at least 48” to allow a full-stride sprint. But that’s just a minor quibble, since the Ancheer treadmill ticks all the other boxes that we look for from the best folding treadmills that fold nicely under the bed.
It is just 5” thick when folded. That can be tucked anywhere. It can also be stored vertically as it stands just 52” tall.
There’s a 4-window display on top that shows you the standard details. In addition to this, there’s a device holder where you can place your tablet or iPad to follow custom workout programs.
Oh, there’s also an inbuilt speaker that’s pretty loud for one integrated into a treadmill.
7. OppsDecor Under Desk Treadmill
- Dual-use treadmill
- Folds down with a top speed of 4kmh for walks
- With the handrail unfolded, the top speed is 12kmh
- Multi-layer composite running deck
- Anti-slip top layer
- Remote control for increasing speed on the go
- 40” long and 16” wide running deck
- Weighs just 75 lbs. for easy storage
OppsDecor Treadmill Review
The OppsDecor Under Desk Treadmill is another dual-use treadmill that folds down under the desk to a low speed model. Lift up the handrail and the speed increases to a very impressive 8mph.
For a folding treadmill with an 8mph top speed, it is surprisingly compact with a running deck that’s 40” long and 16” wide.
Despite the compact footprint, it is a very sturdy unit with a stainless-steel frame and a composite running deck that has an anti-slip, anti-static top layer. Gives you a firm, wobble-free walking surface.
It is powered by a 2.25HP motor that operates very smoothly. No jerks, doesn’t get heated up with continual usage and does not create a ruckus either.
One of the best features is the display window which is neatly concealed on the main frame of the unit. You can always keep an eye on the numbers when you walk and it doesn’t take up space on the handrail either.
This allows you to use your smartphone or other portable device for custom workouts.
Another neat feature is the remote control that lets you customize the speed on the go. You don’t have to bother pressing numbers and can have both hands free.
It weighs just 75 lbs., which means even a senior person or a teenager can pull it out from under the bed and set it up for usage. There are casters which allow you to move it around the house.
Also, the max weight rating is 220 lbs. But there are customers who weigh much more and have used it with no problems whatsoever. So we’d take that max weight rating with a pinch of salt.
8. Goplus 2 in 1
- 2-in one design
- Speed ranges from 1 to 12 kmh
- 16” wide and 40” long tread deck
- 7-layer surface with great cushioning
- LED display
- Remote control
GoPlus 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill Review
Sitting is the new smoking, they say.
Now you can convert your work desk into a mini cardio zone with the Goplus 2 in 1 treadmill.
With a 40” long and 16” wide running deck that can be tucked under your work desk, you’ll be able to meet your daily step count without even stepping out of your office. (No pun intended)
To ensure that your coworkers don’t go crazy with the sound of you running on it, Goplus has limited the speed of the unit to just 4kmh when its folded, for under desk use. That’s perfect for a brisk walk without creating a din.
On the other hand, if you are using it at home and wish to go full steam, you can raise the folded handles and the speed increases to 12 kmh. Even then, the sound of the motor stays below 60db at all times.
If you have an infant or a toddler at home, you’d be pleased to know that this is well within the maximum noise levels (85db) that children must be exposed to, as laid down by the WHO.
The 7-layer tread deck is a treat to walk on. It has just the right amount of firmness and cushioning to keep you comfortable even with prolonged use.
Controls are conveniently assigned to a remote control letting you keep your hands safe. The only control on the handle bar is the emergency stop key.
An LED display is integrated into the frame of the unit and despite being compact, it’s pretty bright and vivid. Even seniors should have no problem keeping track of the time and distance covered.
While it does lack some of the bells and whistles that are a standard in higher-priced units, the Goplus 2-in-one is a terrific option for anyone looking for the best folding treadmills that fold neatly under the bed.
9. Confidence Power Plus Treadmill
- Barebones, lightweight model
- 39.5” long and 14” wide running deck
- 53 lbs. weight and casters for easy maneuvers around home
- 600W motor
- Full-sized LCD display
Confidence Power Plus Treadmill Review
If you are looking for a barebones, lightweight folding treadmill for home use, then the Confidence Power Plus is a great choice.
It has a 39.5” long and 14” wide running deck that’s ideal for walking and light jogs. The surface has a reasonable amount of cushioning as well. So no complaints there.
At 53 lbs., this is one of the lightest treadmills that we’ve come across. Seniors or people with physical limitations who find it impossible to push around a heavier unit will find this to be right up their alley.
With the casters on the front, it is so easy to maneuver around home. More importantly, once you step on it, it stays wobble free. Doesn’t do the dreaded treadmill dance.
The 600W motor is not overly powerful. But it does a great job even with all-day use and doesn’t get overheated or anything. You should expect the unit to decelerate every 30-minutes or so for a while. That’s expected from a budget-priced, mini-treadmill like this.
By the way, if you were missing a full-sized LCD display in our previous three entries, then you’ll be glad to know that this one has it. You can control speeds, toggle through modes and power it off. The display also shows the vital details that you need to be aware of.
10. NordicTrack T Series
- Compact, space-saving design
- Folds vertically for storage
- 55” long and 20” wide running deck
- Ample leg room and elbow room
- FlexSelect Cushioning
- Speed can be increased from 0-10mph
- 5” backlit display
Nordictrack T 6.5 s Treadmill Review
The NordicTrack T Series treadmill is for serious athletes who seek power, performance and top-of-the-line features.
It does not fold flat. But it completely deserves a spot in this list of best folding treadmills.
It has a space-saving design that folds vertically and can be tucked away in a corner of the room after use. If you are willing to overlook this, you get a 55” long and 20” wide capacious running deck. Be it leg room or elbow space, there’s no dearth of both.
The deck features NordicTrack’s FlexSelect Cushioning that gives you a springy, responsive surface to walk on.
You can increase the speed from 0-10mph and you can also incline the surface by 10%. If those weren’t challenging enough, the treadmill comes with a one-month complimentary iFit Trial Membership which gives you access to 16000 workout programs as well as live training sessions.
This allows you to customize your workouts depending on your fitness goals.
The 5” backlit display is a treat to use with the bright, colored icons and numbers. Also, there’s a dual 2” digitally amplified speakers integrated into the unit. So the entertainment part is covered.
Like we said, the NordicTrack T Series treadmill may not fold flat. But it is hands down, the most feature rich treadmill in this list. If you have some additional room to spare, go for this.
Buying a Fold Flat Treadmill?
Here's What to look for
There’s no denying that finding the best under bed treadmill can be tough.
There are hundreds of models, all of them look the same, most of them harp on features that you rarely use.
We get the gist.
That’s why we’ve prepared this checklist of features to look for when you go shopping for these.
The Treadmill’s Folding System
Most folding treadmills will have handrails that fold downwards and sit flush with the running deck.
This means that the treadmill folds flat all the way and this makes it easy to push it under a bed for storage.
That said, you’d want to know the exact thickness or height of the unit when it’s folded.
The average thickness is between 5-9 inches for low-profile models. Some bulkier units, especially with an incline function or with a thicker running deck can be a lot more than 10”. This can make it difficult to push it under a standard-sized bed.
Also, check if it comes with rubberized feet on the front frame that let you store it vertically.
Casters can be a great feature to have if you store the treadmill in a different room. No matter how light the unit is, you don’t want to push it around on a hardwood floor or carpet if there are no casters.
The Footprint of the Treadmill
Just like you know how sleek and compact it becomes when folded, you also need to know how large a footprint it has when it's unfolded.
Measure the exact dimensions of the treadmill and ensure that you have enough room to accommodate it in the room where you will be placing it. That’s both horizontally and vertically.
While measuring vertically, check the step-up height and add the height of the tallest user to this. Now throw in another 6”. That’s the clearance you need.
While measuring horizontally, always account for the clearance needed around the unit.
There needs to be at least 24” of wall to treadmill clearance for a comfortable workout space, else you’ll just be scraping the elbows on the wall as you run.
All brands will offer a warranty on their treadmills. But the terms vary for different parts.
Some cheap brands will offer you an unbeatable pricing, but will reduce the warranty to say, 3-months on the frame, which is unacceptable.
Look for at least 5-years on the frame. Lifetime is better, but even 5-10 years isn’t too bad.
For the rest of the parts, 2-years is the standard while 1-year works for labor.
One of the most underrated features trying to pick out the best under bed treadmill that fold nicely under a bed, is the deck size.
The more low profile the treadmill is, the smaller the deck size.
The smaller the deck, lesser the scope for more demanding workouts.
Anything smaller than 40” will be too compact for a full-stride sprint. 16” is the bare minimum width you need for elbow room.
Don’t forget to check this when you shop.
Most entry-level models and folding treadmills will have 2-2.5HP peak power motors.
Occasionally, you might come across one that offers a 3.0HP one. But that’s about it.
Anything lower than 2.0HP might not be suited for continual use.
It will work fine in short bursts. But if you run it for a couple of hours, expect it to conk off after every 30-45 minutes or so.
Are you looking for an under-desk unit for light, mid-work walks? Even a treadmill with a top speed of 4 kmh will work very well for such type of use.
But if you are like us, you’ll start to yearn for a higher speed run pretty soon.
That’s why we’ve picked two-in-one treadmills that can be folded for a walk and unfolded for a run.
If you are looking to run, look for a top speed of at least 8mph.
We also have treadmills like the NordicTrack T-Series which is feature-rich and boasts of a top speed of 11mph.
FAQ Buyers Have When Buying a Fold Flat Treadmill
Here are a few common questions that buyers have while shopping for treadmills that fold flat.
Q. How do I fold my treadmill?
A. Folding treadmills have handrails that can be pushed downwards and locked into position, where they sit flush with the running deck.
You can then push it under a bed or even lift it up and store it vertically, depending on the model that you’ve picked.
These typically have a spring-assisted mechanism or are hydraulically powered which lets you lift them up without assistance.
Q. Are these Treadmills above the Best Fold Flat Treadmills?
Yes, they are. Like we mentioned earlier, there are hundreds of fold-flat treadmill models these days. But not all of them are made equal.
Most of them are plagued with problems like flimsy running decks or a weak motor, or a poor warranty.
We have spent weeks analyzing the top fold flat treadmills to come up with this list, based on features, pricing and customer reviews.
Is this the most exhaustive list? Maybe not. You may find other treadmills too that fold flat. But you’ll have then be shopping in the hardcore, professional range and it doesn’t come cheap.
That sums up our list of the best folding treadmills that fold nicely under the bed.
